General
The rates in South Africa include mileage and either super or standard theft and collision waivers. Additionally airport surcharges, tourism levy, personal accident insurance and VAT are all included. A once off R38 contract fee is charged additionally to the rental.

Rates and conditions are subject to change without prior notice and all vehicles are rented subject to the detailed terms and conditions which are also published on the back of the Rental Agreement you'll receive.

Drivers
A valid, unendorsed licence must be produced by the hirer or authorised driver.

Minimum age for hirers or authorised drivers is 23 years of age and the drivers licence must have been valid for a minimum of two years.

An International Driver's License (IDL) is required if the renter's national driver's license is not in Roman alphabet (i.e. Arabic, Greek, Russian or Chinese). International driver's license must be accompanied by the original domestic license of the driver. UK license holders must present both the photocard and its paper counterpart at the time of rental.

Additional Driver (No Need to Pre-book)
Charge per additional driver: Not included in rate shown.

Charges will increase by R160 per rental for each additional driver nominated. In the event of accident damage or theft caused to the vehicle whilst being driven by a driver not specified on the Rental Agreement, the hirer will be responsible for the full value of damage or loss.

Insurance Coverage
Excesses
Rates are inclusive of collision damage waivers and theft waivers. In the event of an accident you are liable for the excess amounts as shown below:-
A - R 2,500
T - R 2,500
B - R 2,950
D - R 3,950
I - R 4,000
E - R 12,000

Please note the excess amounts do not cover repairs to tyres, windscreens, and under-carriage, and the costs for these repairs will be for the Renter. Should these components be damaged as a result of an accident, they are covered by the excess.

Waiver Exceptions
An exceptions excess is payable in the following instances:-
Where damage to a vehicle is caused by you and no other vehicle is involved, and the damage is less than R50,000, the Renter is liable for the excess amount. Should the damage exceed R50,000, the Renter is liable for the Exceptions excess amount. This applies to both standard and super waivers.

Where damage to a vehicle is caused by you whilst driving on roads not suitable for it, on weekend rentals and where the vehicle is uneconomical to repair, an exceptions excess is payable.

An Exceptions excess is 2.5 times the waiver excess amount indicated in the table above.

In the event of an accident with a third party, failure to obtain full and correct third party details will result in an exceptions excess being charged. You will find all required information on the back of the rental envelope.

Third Party Claims
When a third party is at fault, the rental company will attempt to recover the monies for the damage to our vehicle from the third party. If the rental company are successful, the rental company will credit the client with liability amount that was paid in by the client. If the customer has elected to decline their waivers or has accepted Standard Waivers and the customer is at fault, the third party claim is re-directed by the Claims Department to the customer.

The customer would then be liable to settle in full with the third party themselves. Should a customer have elected Super Cover, the rental company will cover all costs to the repairs of the third party's vehicle up to a maximum amount of R50,000.

Personal Accident Insurance
Personal Accident Insurance is included in the following South African daily rates – 200km Free, 400km Free per day and Unlimited Mileage. However, it is excluded in the South African 100km rate, weekend rates, selected specials and Namibian rates at an optional cost of N$25/R25 per day. The policy is underwritten by Regent Insurance. This insurance covers the passengers in the vehicle and cover is provided as below

Accidental death: R250,000 per incident
Permanent disability: R250,000 per incident
Emergency medical expenses: R20,000 per incident
Guaranteed hospital admission: R5000 per incident

Conditions of Rental
There can be no extension of rentals without prior authorisation from the rental company. An unauthorised extension negates collision and theft cover. Rentals are charged per 24 hours. Late return of vehicles will result in being charged for a further day. Rentals will be charged until such time as the vehicle keys are returned. All fines and penalties incurred in the duration of the hire are strictly for the liability of the driver. This includes valets for cars that are returned in conditions not accepted as normal. In addition a R175 traffic fine handling fee will be charged per incident.

On termination of the rental, vehicle keys must be returned to an authorised personnel member of the rental company. Failure to do so will result in the hirer being fully liable for the value of loss or damage. In the event of loss of keys, the hirer will be responsible for all resultant costs. Supplying a replacement vehicle after an accident or theft is entirely at our discretion and we reserve our rights accordingly.

Cancellation Policy

The general cancellation policy is:
- If the booking is cancelled within 7 days of the car rental booking date and at least 48 hours before pick up time, all funds will be reimbursed.

Payment Method
Embossed credit cards (cards with raised digits) only will be accepted as payment; we accept all major cards but regrettably cannot accept debit cards, cheque cards, cash, cheques or bank transfers.

The Renter must be in possession of an embossed credit card and 2 valid forms of identification for the rental of Group E vehicles. A valid, unendorsed driver's license is a pre-requisite and a second form of identification such as an ID Book, Passport, Medical Aid card or ATM Card must be shown to validate the Renter's credentials.
